  • Using deodorant with aluminium content which can irritate skin and lead to darkening of the underarm area.
  • A reaction to certain types of clothing/fabrics such as wool or nylon.

  • Apply a skin lightening cream containing alpha-hydroxy acids such as glycolic acid or lactic acid for two weeks. You can also use Indian gooseberry (Amalaki) which is rich in antioxidants, anti-bacterial properties, vitamin C, and minerals
  • Use unscented laundry detergents/detergents on your clothes without dyes or perfumes if it's not already done so.
  • Do not shave your underarm area. You may opt for laser hair removal if you need a permanent solution.
