Sunburn is a result of overexposure of skin to the ultraviolet rays of the sun which burn the living tissues of the skin making it look dark, red and swollen. During a normal exposure to the sun our skin develops tans which are due to the production of melanin in our body to fight UV rays of the sun. But, an overexposure burn these cells causing pain, irritation and the skin may develop early signs of ageing. Sunburn treatment generally includes remedies that soothes the skin and hydrates it.
