Cosmelan is a Depigmentation peel. It is used on hyperpigmented and scarred parts of the body. Cosmelan cream comes in a kit of four products i.e. degreasing cream, Cosmelan mask, Cosmelan cream and Vitamin K cream. Degreasing cream cleanses the skin and removes oil and dirt as it contains water and acetone.
Cosmelan mask is worn for about 4-8 hours depending upon how deep the skin damages are. It quickly reduces hyperpigmentation and is only applied once during the course of cosmelan treatment. Once this mask is removed, the Dermatologist prescribes the use of cosmelan cream and Vitamin K cream which is applied 2-3 times a day for a period as prescribed.
